How to change keyboard language settings?

A friend of mine could change the settings for the normal Latin alphabet to Russian/Cyrillic by just clicking Shift + Alt. How do I do the same? :O|||Modern computers allow you to have more than one virtual keyboard installed and to switch between them.

Exact details of how to do this different according to your operating system and what version of the operating system you have. Check your system help file under “keyboard” and “language”..

In Windows, you do this through “Regional and Language Options” in the Control panel.
