It%26#039;s the symbols like @ that change suddenly, i type it and get something else and all the keys with double symbols like ! get mucked up and change places. It%26#039;s really annoying! any ideas to what%26#039;s going on? how do i change it back to normal again? At present i have to close down the computer and restart all over again and hope it%26#039;s writ ed itself.|||If it is as you expect when you boot your computer, but changes as you use it the possibilities are it is a virus (I won鈥檛 go into detail here- there is plenty of information about how to scan and remove viruses- google it. But choose a well known reliable source. I have linked some good, reliable online scans below but they are no substitute for real time protection.) Or the application you are using has its own keyboard settings (though this is unlikely.) Try noting which applications you are using when the behaviour happens.
Also, is it a wireless keyboard? If so, it could be the batteries failing, something blocking the signal or how far away the keyboard is from the receiver. If it is wireless, try resetting the connection. It might even be a neighbour with a similar wireless keyboard. Your rebooting resets you and their keyboard. They have strange behaviour, reset their keyboard and you are back to square one. Wireless keyboards aren鈥檛 supposed to have that kind of range, but believe me they do.
