How to change advanced settings for volume level for a pc.?

When i have a program open (i.e. counterstike) and change the volume level by pressing the button on the keyboard, the program minimizes and it shows the volume level bar. Does anyone know how to set it so it doesnt close out of the program?How to change advanced settings for volume level for a pc.?If there is a way it should be on the user manual for the keyboard. Try Googling it. If this doesn't work open something small (like windows explorer, we) before starting counterstrike. When in counterstrike, hit Alt-Tab, go to we and set the volume as normal using the task bar. Hit Alt-Tab again to go back to cs. Additionally cs may have volume settings internally you could use.
