any help please? How do i change num lock settings? If sounds like your laptop is working as it should. When number lock is on, those number become active. When number lock is off, you should get the letters. There should be a light near the keyboard to determine if Num Lock is on (lit) or off (unlit). You may have to press the num lock key to turn it on or off as needed. Some laptops have a numlock key and other have a numlock key that will work only if you press shift and numlock. Even others have a fn function key like Dell and you need to press the fn key and numlock to get it to toggle. How do i change num lock settings?reboot? holding buttons down for too long does tricks.
