In system preferences the audio and speech tabs have options for speech to text. go into that and turn it off.
for your hotkeys on your keyboard, this should help as those keys are oftenm the default for others.
if not it should be in your mouse and keyboard options.

There, Prob SolvedMy mac is retarded!!!!!!!!!!?In your system preferences, select the speech preference. On the top, select the text to speech. There you should have nothing selected. I just checked my settings and I have nothing selected.
As far as your volume key not changed your volume, in your system preferences, select keyboard, then keyboard shortcuts, and double check your F5 key.
