Open Control Panel
double-click Regional and Language Options
open the Keyboards and Languages tab
click the Change Keyboards button
if the correct keyboard is visible, select it
if not, click the Add button, select the right one, then click OK

you will have to restart
this should fix your problem.|||If you are running Windows XP you will find in the bottom right hand corner of the tray next to the clock the EN (English) symbol. Click on that (can`t remember left or right) and it will give you the options of English US or English UK. Just pick which one you require. This programs the keyboard language only.
For later versions see above answers.
Best of luck with it, Bob.|||I wish you could have mentioned what OS You are using. Windows 95 is so much different than Windows 7.
As a general rule of thumb, Start %26gt; Control Panel %26gt; Regional Settings.
I%26#039;m guessing you are using a US Keyboard but Your Regional Settings are using a UK Keyboard.
